Being a survivor of fibromyalgia and other autoimmune issues, I have decided to help educate and provide alternative options for pain relief and management. A few years ago I decided I was done with the never ending handfuls of medication to treat various symptoms. (don't get me wrong, I still have a few medications I need to take, but the list has been dramatically reduced, by more than half) I started looking into alternative treatment such as acupuncture, massage, herbs, supplements and finally, magnetic therapy and aromatherapy. I do not claim that magnetic therapy is a miracle cure or any kind of a cure for that matter. I just know that I, and many others, have benefited from magnetic therapy in a number of ways. I will, at a later time, go into more detail about how we believe magnetic therapy works. Very few, if any of us, get complete relief from the pill or pills we take. Do any of them fix our issues? No! So why would we only be willing to try alternative options if they have proof and guarantees that they will work for us? I understand skepticism, however, we are willing to run out and take pill after pill seeking relief at the determent of our kidneys, liver's, hearts etc. If we are willing to pay for these medications that can make us sicker, in the hopes that it makes us feel better, why then would we not be willing to look at an inexpensive alternative in the hopes that it will work, with NO side affects?

Autoimmune Diseases

The immune system is essential to survival, and even a modest decrease in immune function can leave a person susceptible to infection. But the immune system itself can also cause disease, by inappropriately attacking the body’s own organs, tissues, or cells. Autoimmune diseases are often disabling illnesses that develop when underlying defects in the immune system lead the body to attack its own organs, tissues, and cells. To date, there have been more than 100 autoimmune diseases identified. Some, such as type 1 diabetes, attack specific organs, while others, such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), involve multiple organs. Some of the prevalent autoimmune diseases include Multiple Sclerosis, Myasthenia Gravis, Scleroderma, Polymyositis, Vasculitis, Lupus (SLE & Discoid), and Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP), Juvenile Diabetes, Sjögren’s disease, Crohn’s disease and Grave’s disease. Autoimmunity is the underlying cause of these diseases and although some autoimmune disease are considered rare, according to the Autoimmune Diseases Coordinating Committee (ADCC), between 14.7 and 23.5 million people in the USA–up to eight percent of the population–are affected by autoimmune disease. For unknown reasons, the prevalence of autoimmune disease is increasing. Despite autoimmune disease being the 3^rd major cause of illness behind cancer and heart disease, little progress has been made in the treatment of autoimmune disease. Although researchers have made some progress in understanding the immune mechanisms that mediate tissue injury in autoimmune diseases, much remains to be learned.
